The Night of Arts

As Juan already wrote it was the Night of Arts in Helsinki on friday. There was loads of people in town and things happening everywhere. We spent most of our time in the Hesperia park close to the Opera and the Finlandia house and saw fire shows, dance shows, capoeira and more. It was quite nice. On Saturday we had our own private little fire show in the same spot. Our friend´s rehearsing their fireshow. That was nice:-)

Latest big stress factor

Well, I have survived my three first weeks at my new work. It has been fine so far but of course your more or less stressed at a new workplace. so much to learn and so many new faces.

The good thing of working for the big phone company in this country is the exellent work benefits you have. Like internet connection to your home (that is for you to be able at work from home though of...) Anyway, on monday morning they came and installed it to our nice rent apartment that we have been thinking of staying still for long, especially since the landlord asked us in November when we moved in if we are sure to stay long and not move out at least in a year. Sure we said.

On monday afternoon our landlord called us to kindly inform us she wants to move back in. Riight. Now we have to start looking for something new:-( We are really dissapointed in many ways. We really liked it here and the whole finding something nice and moving out is really stressy.

Anyway, if anyone knows a cheap and nice two-room apartment in Helsinki let us know!

Saaremaa and other places

Since last time I wrote we have been in the sailing festival in Loviisa, not sailing though but meeting friends and partying.

We 've also had a lovely weekend in Jakobstad with Martin and Catariina. Sleeping over in Martin's family's sailing boat.

El capitán and the boat :-)

I've had my last working day at Arcada and recieved some roses.

I hardly had the time to realize that I acctually wasn't going back there for work nor school anymore and we found ourself in Estonia, in Saaremaa, for a mini-holiday before my first day at work in Nokia. Saaremaa was lovely and super cheap, the only annoying thing was that the people always tried to cheat you with money since you were a tourist. Not that it mattered much if lost 20 kroons when buying something when we didn't get all our change back(20 kroons is about 1€) but in the end it got annoying when it happened everywhere, in the bar, in the hotel, in the restaurant. However, it was cheap and we even let ourself some luxury of spa-treatments:-)

The Saaremaa castle.

The lovely winery we found. Vinotec.

The idyllic park.

Our hotel.

But there's a back side of everywhere you go...

The back side of our hotel:

I'm not complaining though, on the inside our hotel was flawless except for a very hot room and a sauna that was burning your ass (sooo very too hot, and an electric one, so it was even impossible for me as an Finn to sit in there). However, it was quite interesting how there was houses on the same streets looking super nice and on the other side shacks falling apart.

Wanna swim?
