The holiday went fine and Stefan's brother's weeding was beatuiful. I was just gonna load up some pictures to an album on pixbox but it didn't work :-( I try again later. We enjoyed Paris a lot and did lot of nice shopping in Normandie and saw also the beatiful coast line.
Stefan and the Atlantic;
Since the holidays we have had company summerparties and friends graduating and it's been Midsummer and we have been babysitting little cute Vasco. I went also on a girl day-cruise to Tallinn yesterday. Summer is lovely but I wish I had more time to hang around and do nothing. I had a look in the calender and we have exactly 2 free weekends until half of september. :-I But hopefully we have time to relax as well.
During Midsummer we were in my parents summercottage with some friends, that was nice and relaxing. Unfortunetly it was pretty cold this year but I am proud to say I went swimming :-)...after some Sauna!
Me and Vasco during midsummer;
I'm gonna post also this song since it always make me think of lazy late summernights on the counrtyside;
This morning started horrible, I went out and noticed it was raining and I had only a t-shirt and a summerjacket so I had to go back home and get some more clothes because it was cold (or almost home cause Stefan was nice enough to bring them down) . During that time I missed 2 buses. When I finally caught the bus I hit my head when I was supposed to sit down. And then when getting off the bus I twisted my ancle.
Luckily it is holiday sooon! Today I worked for longer to finish most things before my holiday week. I'm getting in the holiday mood now and starting to relax little by little:-)
When finally home from work I made my dad's special sandwhich to empty the fridge as we are gonna be away for a week;
Some Finnish rye bread;
with mustard, ham, cucumber, tomatoes, some cheese on top and a bit of oregano. This you put in the microwave so the cheese meltes and it's yammi :-)
While eating it I watched with one eye, believe it or not Serrano Family or Serrano Perhe as it's called in Finland.
It just happened to be on when I turned on the TV and it was perfectly braindead for a day like today. It feels comletely like a Friday now even if we are only Wednesday.
After that I took another step in the relaxing process and read my newspaper in calmness but in the end I got a bit restless and decided that some jogging would be nice even if it's raining. So I put on some Veronica Maggio and went running.
It was perfect jogging weather and perfect jogging music. In the beginning of the week it was about 30 degrees and it was too hot to do anything, I couldn't even sleep.
The perfect ending of the day was however to come home and go to sauna.
In two days we are flying to Paris, what could be better than that :-)
Well Eurovision was a total disaster for Finland as always. It is also long time since I´ve seen a Eurovision so boring. There was no excitement in waiting for who´s gonna win. I would have preferred Iceland to win instead of Norway, I didn´t really like the song at all. At least we saw Eurovision in good company after some nice BBQ.
The day before Eurovision we had a yammi Mexican team dinner at our friend´s place. Tequila is evil but Corona is ok even though I usually don´t like beer.
To continue on the Mexican team we ate dinner at Cantina West the next week in order to celebrate our friend´s birthday. I love the interior in this restaurant and the food is yummy too. The restaurant must be huge since everytime we go they take us to a new place, terass, second floor, celler and so on, I never realized it was so big.
I think the birthday girl´s nephews stole the show during the dinner though;
Finally we also started renovating our house in Liljendal. We bought a BBQ and invited some friends over :-) The result so far is a piece of new floor in the second floor...jeee! :-D
Thanx Martin for your expertise help! we couldn´t have done it without you :-) And Cia and Nalle too for lifting stuff and giving ideas.
Little Vasco also enjoyed the house:-)
Here´s a picture from starting the floor work, unfortunetly I didn´t have a pic of the laminate acctually installed;
Maybe next weekend I´ll have time to start painting the wall some other colour than the yellow you can see on the pic.
You have to also take a peek at Cia´s blogg, she put up some nice videos of the boys working on emptying the room; Cia´s blogg
Vappu came and went again and it was suuper nice as always. We were lucky with the weather as well. We also had the first party in our balcony which was a great success! :-)
Today we had a sports day at work for the ones who wanted to join. You could choose between running Cooper test or doing a walk test. I did the Cooper with three other girls from our team. It´s been some time since I last been jogging so I tried to train some for the last three weeks because I knew the test was coming up....but three weeks is not much if you want to suddenly be in a excellent running shape. Anyhow, I´m quite happy with my result in the end, I run 2270 meters in 12 minutes, and that´s supposed to be a "good" result for a normal person. But well I´ve run better in high school.
We also had some test for the balance, strenght and some machine tests for knowing the fat percent of your body and stuff. That was wierd, you stood on a metal thingy barefoot that looked just like a normal scale and this machine suddenly knew your stuff like your body weight, fat percent, fat mass, muscle mass, water percentage in your body and bone mass ! I wonder how accurate it is really....well I was happy to see that the scale thought my body weight was 3 kg less than at my parents place :-P Know I also know I should consume 5309 kcal per day and that my metabolic age is 13....interesting... The fact that my degree of obesity is in minus percentage I will take as an encouragement to eat more sweets during coffee break ;-)
I don´t like too much the Finnish Eurovision song this year...too much disco for me! But; Good luck to Finland in Eurovision semifinal tonight anyway:
During Easter we went to Lapland to Kuusamo and Ruka for skiing. Unfortunelty I had a flu so we didn't ski to much in the end but we had a good time anyway, and it was nice getting away from the city for a while.
In the beginning of the trip I had to write Stefan when I wanted to communicate something longer because I had completely no voice;
But once we were in Kuusamo I got the voice back. We had miscalculated a bit our stay as we had booked only three nights in the hotel and we realised we were acctually gonna have to stay four nights since our plane back was not until monday morning....:-P Luckily the hotel could book an extra night for us without problems.
Skiing; Trying to figure out were in the hill we are;
The next day we went husky sledging, the huskies were super cuute :-P
Stefan was our husky sledge driver;
The huskies;
My favorite, lazy and silly like me;
Stefan got hot;
Young and cute ones;
and friendly;
The leader dogs;
The puppy;
and the mascot, Emma;
Videos;
Our team;
sledging;
One of the doggies was impatient when we had to stop;
It feels funny writing about the winter wonderland when I am writing this is in a top and shorts on our balcony :-) Summer has finally arrived to Helsinki! Amazing that Easter was only 2 weeks ago.
As I am sick and staying home today I got a bit bored and started googleling my favorite comic strip, 'Non sequitur'.
Luckily this helped me with a subject for a post :-D
Today´s strip;
There´s been some excellent strips on the economic depression lately, unfortunetely I couldn´t find all my favorites but these are pretty funny;
Since Stefan has studied advertising I have to also publish this one for him;
I like the way this guy make humour out of more difficult subjects as well;
The best ones about Monday and mornings....horrible combination :-P I´m sure Stefan is gonna say this reminds him me in the morning...I admit, I´m not a morning person!
I could go on still for long but I better get back to resting:-)
